Looking to get an advertising position on the client side, how do I break in?

I've been working in advertising on the agency side for 5 plus years, and would like to get a position on the client side. The problem I'm facing is that the companies that I've been working with are not of interest to me, looking to get into an entertainment, consumer electronics, or clothing company any suggestions as to how I should go about this?

A position on the client side should be an easy transition, it is more common for in-house staff to look to make the leap to an agency. (and much harder) You should start with some of the clients at your current agency, they are familliar with your company and your work.





Also if you respond to in-house advertising postings on a job site, you will find that when they hear you have agency experience it will be a big plus.
