My question was removed (after I chose an answer) for spam/advertising. I provided a link to Amazon to describe the book I was refering to. Is that advertising by Yahoo guidelines?

If you were giving the link to say "here is the information you need" then it is not spam. Sadly, people are just doing www searches and just reporting all those who have left links in their answers.
It's the abuse of the abuse system that got your link reported. Not because it was spam.
