Hotel management?? GOOD PAY?!!! law? advertising?

hi!

im looking for a career! i already had those vocational tests. and i need to chose the best you know? im gonna do this for the rest of my life so i need to make the best choice.

ok first of all, i would like to work in canada, uss, or australia.

second, i want a good pay, or at least a decent one.

so my very first choice was hotel management, but after reading some stuff about it for a long time, i just realized this: pay isnt the best. and cant get into a high position, the highest ive red is manager, you know? nothing higher. and you gotta be lucky to get a decent job, or company. i dont want to end up working at a motel. But i love this career! i mean the prospectus alumni fits me perfect! im so a hotel management. anyways now i was thinking on becoming a lawyer wich seems good but i cant find the right university! and takes along time. advertising im good at creating but i frustrate easily. real state im good at selling so i dont know!! any suggestions? or any career

Hotel management?? GOOD PAY?!!! law? advertising?
G'day,

In Australia, hospitality industry is booming and the good colleges/unis have work experience programs which enable the students to get jobs quite easily after finishing their study (depending on the grades though).

Lawyers... yes, well-paid, if you can fit in all those previous case studies well enuf in your head. Yes... you can find it in the book, but you have to remember it first, right?! Not to mention expensive tuition fees!!

Advertising... how's your creativity? R u the kind of person that everytime seeing new stuff, already thinking of how to promote it?

This is the last point that will make it even more difficult for you: I'll say 30% of ppl working and earning quite well today do not even have the same study background. My own experience: I have Bachelor of Business degree in MIS and Marketing, and now I am working in the area where I am helping international students coming to Australia... totally unrelated career from my education background.

My point is, no matter what are you going to study in the future, please keep your options open wide for ANY future opportunity.

Hope this helps. Good luck for your study :)
Reply:Most of my working years so far have been in the hotel business. If that's somthing you wan to pursue then by all mean you should do it. Yeah maybe you might not get the greatest pay in th eworld, but at least you'll be doing something that makes you happy. You won't be bored or fed up of going to work every morning. Anyway if you get into the right hotel I'm sure the $ wouldn't be that bad. You can always work your way up from manager to district manager. Who knows maybe you could end up owning your own one day if you become successful @ it.
