Or any help that someone that has graduated with marketing and advertising or work in marketing/advertising tell me what is it about, classes hard in college , like it, what you do?

Anyone majoring or has a B.S in marketing/advertising? Like it?
I have a BBA (Bachelor's of Business Administration) in Marketing. I am going back to get my MBA starting this fall.

As far as the classes go. I found them to be very easy and I loved them. However, it depends on the college and the professors. The reading isn't bad, but you are expected to do a lot of reading in college. That's college! You will probably end up in some sort of sales position at some time. But if you are determined, depending on the industry, you shouldn't have a problem. Advertising, from what I understand, can be hard work but pay off in the end.

If you like working with a team and like being around people I think this major is the one for you. But beware! I've found that many of the marketing jobs that are open are entry level for those just getting out of college. You have to work your way up through a company to get your dream job in marketing. If you want to start higher up then I wouldn't recommend marketing as a profession because many jobs expect you to have experience to get the job. But as many college students know, it's a double-edged sword. You can't get the experience without a degree. But to get a good job you must first have the degree. Unless you do an internship while getting a degree it's hard to get the experience. That's the way it is with many jobs.

Good Luck!
Reply:I have an MBA in marketing.. Classes weren't hard, but the jobs for entry level marketing and advertising can be low pay, high hours. Advertising is a dog eat dog world... a lot of work for low rewards at times, but if you like to work in a creative environment, under a lot of pressure, advertising is the way to go.

And most companies paint a very fine line between marketing and sales (unless they know what they are doing) so there is a high likelihood you will end up in a sales role at some point in time
Reply:I'm an advertising marketing major and I love it! If you like to be with people and also use your artistic abiblities then it's right for you! :D The classes aren't bad, their a lot of reading but you get use to that! I love college it's the fact that you met SO many cool people and get to really learn what you like and what you don't like! :D
