Does anyone know an advertising agency hiring for internship/entry-level in SF?

I've been on craigslist for the past 8 months looking for an entry level position in marketing/advertising/PR in SF. I will be studying in SFSU this year, but no one has called me. I have relative experience in sales, recruiting, consultanting, and finance for the past 4 years. Don't know what other sources I could find on the internet. Please help!

Craigslist is not the best way to go to find this type of job. Check out ad agency websites; you can generally find directories on the SF Chamber of Commerce, or, better yet, at AdAge.com, etc. Submit your resume to each of their sites as the first thing you do.

You should also read industry press and check industry sites. For example, if you're interested in advertising online, you should go to mediapost.com and iab.net. If you like word of mouth advertising/marketing, check out the WOMMA site.

I also saw this posted in a job board: Universal McCann in San Francisco on the Microsoft account. Universal McCann is a worldwide leader in advertising communications, specializing in Media Planning and Buying services. We offer competitive salaries and benefits plans for all employees, as well as a great working and learning environment.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but figured I'd pass along the info.

Hope that helps!
Reply:The next steps could be to get the yellow pages out or an ADWEEK or ADAge and contact the agencies who have either won big accounts recently (they all like to brag!) or are pitching big accounts. They need staff! Secondly, go to the San Francisco Ad Club, link below, and see if you can go to a meeting or two to network face-to-face with agency owners, creatives, account execs and pitch yourself to them in person!! Have resumes to give them and the phone will be ringing soon. SF is a HOT market and energetic, hardworking, willing-to-do-what-it-takes will go a long way.
