I'm in quite a predicament. I'm very creative and I'm very interested in advertising, but I also love teaching someone something new (that's why I like Answers). I would love to teach, but it's a hard job with low pay and few benefits. Advertising would be higher pay, but it's a difficult buissness and I'm not sure if I like the "office-cubicl" kind of environment. What should I go into and why?
How do I choose whether to go into advertising or teaching?
You seem to have a conflict of interests. In order to decide which career would be better for you, you will have to sit down with a pen and paper and list out things that are most important to you. Also make lists of the pros and cons of each job. Once you figure out which job would be better for you, chooses that one. You also might try researching each career before doing anything if you haven't already. Think about what is important to you. Can you still do those things in the careers you have chosen? You just need to look at all the options.
Reply:Teach advertising.
Reply:Nothing wrong witih either of them. In fact you have given pros and cons to both. Let me try to give yo uanother perspective.
If you want to join advertising for the glamour and money, forget it. It is donkey's work and never pays enough. As your lifestyle will allow you to save.
Teaching on teh other hand can be very interesting. But if you are a control freak, forget teaching. You will spoil the students.
It completely depends on what you want to do. What you are happy doing and where you can have a means for your life. not in terms of money but in terms of satisfaction at work.
