The field i should work in one day is humanities. I think i might try advertising. Anyone who can tell me the pros and cons of this industry and any useful tips?

I'm a business admin. and advertising double major. the pros of advertising it pays well, there is always high demand(its usually the key to a successful business) and you can showcase your creativity and people skills. the con it is extremely cut-throat business. if you don't want to be the best then you will stepped on and pasted over. learn as much as you can. analyze billboards, commercials, signs, etc. what would you like to see more of in the commercials? even if you think a commercial is weird does it stick in your head? your parents head? kids? find out who to target. if you are serious about getting into the field it can be very lucrative.

Reply:Start out applying for "promotions" jobs - say, off of craigslist. But attend college and obtain a degree in marketing. With both your experience and education you will have no trouble landing a lucrative career.
Reply:advertising is changing and only creative solutions will survive... If you want to go into advertising right now you will have to work with new ways to target your customers
