What is ASDA's advertising strategy?
They use a lot of TV adverts. They use the "smiley face" logo, and pat their own bottoms with a jingle of coins to show that people are happy, prices are lower and you can save money (and keep it in your back pocket).
They have also been known to use celebrities, like Coleen McLoughlin, to show how a shopper can have designer looks at budget prices. Again, this appeals to the value shopper.
This strategy appeals to those who are budget-conscious shoppers, which, in the particular economic climate, should grow in number.
Reply:They advertise about 5 or 6 things that are really cheap to get you into their shop, you then spend a fortune on stuff that you didn't need just to buy the offers!!!
Reply:appeal to the chavs desire for a cheap bargain
