Which are the best colors for advertising?
The best colors for advertising?
Yo Oliver,
This is an extremely arbitrary question !!
The use of color in advertising is an extremely complex art !!
One must consider a number of things when doing a detailed layout that is meant to convey a particular message OR image -- especially when it comes to the image of the company in question AND the product or service being advertised !!
If you make a study of some of the ads that are presently being ran in various places for the multitude of products and services being offered -- you should begin to get a "thumbnail" idea of the use of color within such advertisements !! The biggies, have gone to considerable expense to lay these ads out in detailed fashion to get the desired results ---AND --- there is no law against YOU taking the basics of the color scheme and general outline or format from those to construct your own unique ad for YOUR use !!
Just as example here --- notice that most financial institutions use the red, white, and blue theme...... it nestles them in to close association with the "national" thing and covertly sends a message of "the security of the nation" idea !! While discount stores use a lot of neon colors (intense colors denote expediency !! ) and these ads usually have the GET IT NOW or LIMITED TIME ONLY theme !!
By studying ads that are the absolute closest to the theme and "feel" for what YOU are needing and wanting -- you will be able to avail yourself of the talents of ad agencies and art directors without the expense !!
Reply:Depending on what your advertising, I like to use bright colors like red, green, blue, yellow..... I use red for phone numbers and green for the name of the company or descriptions. Think red means stop and green means go. Also, adding some metallic colors helps too, anything to make it stand out.
Reply:Red, Azure and Orange
