Why was this company bought for so many millions if it doesn't have advertising on its site? Where does the revenue or potential revenue come from?
If YouTube does no advertising, why is it worth so much money?
It is worth so much to Google... because Google sees so much potential in Youtube to generate revenue in the future. To anyone else on the street who doesnt know what to do with Youtube or how to use it to generate money, obviously it would be worthless.
So what I'm saying is that Youtube is not intrinsically worth the millions it was bought for, but the millions is what Google thinks it is worth paying for and that the owners will accept for selling.
But of course the key factor for buying over Youtube was the fact that millions of people around the world visit Youtube daily and Google will very much leverage on that.
Reply:Because there's always someone out there who has a little more money than sense, invariably and evidently this problem always evens itself out in fairly short order.
Reply:Due to the large amount of traffic there's a potential to leverage Google's advertising strength into a consistent stream of positive free cash flow.
Reply:I don't know, sorry.
Reply:I have bought magazines that talk about youtubes videos... I think its more that people advertise for them...

What makes a good advertising campaign?
refer to recent advertising campaigns in your answer if possible
What makes a good advertising campaign?
A good advertising campaign should include a few things, but not all.
1. Any sort of personal connection to the public or sympathy
2. Advisement from a profession that is well suited to endorse the product or concept.
3. Logical reasoning for the product or concept they are trying to win you over with.
These three are the basic building blocks for advertisement.
For the first, you can refer to the commercial's for christian help drives for 3rd world countries. They'll show you poor children in horrible conditions, trying to envoke some sort of feeling in you.
The 2nd, think about the Wheaties box, with the chosen athlete on the box. If you eat wheaties, you'll be JUST like them! Right?
And for the last one, consider cigarettes, many smoking comercials throw some kind of statistic at you, which you obviously think "well, if THAT many people died.....OBVIOUSLY I shouldn't be smoking!"
Hope that helped!

Reply:A good slogan, but one that refers to the manufacturer! - for example, "vursprung durch technic" is a good slogan - but I can never remember who it is for!
"Guinness - good things come to those who wait" is memorable, and ties in beautifully with the TV adverts (which I think are excellent - and I hate Guinness!)
I also like good play on word slogan - I always remember there was an electrical company, "Rumbelows - We save you money and serve you right"
My children (8 and 14) like "Don't tap it, whack it" - and "it's not Terry's - it's mine!"
(I think the shredded wheat advert is stupid! They make a point of saying that shredded wheat only contains wheat, then follow it with 'now contains honey'!!!!!
Hope these help!
Reply:catchy songs or exiting scenes, like movie trailers, i always watch them if there interesting.

How to present my advertising ideas?
One big advertising agency is interested about my advetising ideas. They said to me to send these ideas through e - mail.
How to present my advertising ideas?
One thing to bear in mind about companies executives.
They are busy people, or even if other people who do their job, they think their time is above anyone else for waste.
Rule #1- Give a straightforward summary of the key points/ideas, with image sketches if you have . Your marketing pitch lies on this.
If you you are talking about mumbo jumbo, they will push your email aside , and just tell you the usual "We regret to turn down your offer.....after careful consideration we have considered someone else proposal..." Even if there was never some1 else!
Now, if your little pitch really hit the spot, they would be hungry for more, so you can further add to your email.
"Kindly find the details in the attached file of this email."
I would suggest you type a WORD document. I learn in Business school that business communication is important.
The Word document features will allow you to create chapters with hyperlink to lead the executive on the spot he's interested.
This will be efficient and time saving for him.
I'm not saying you need to write a book. You can even do this in a 6 page document.
Regarding WORD skills, ask a friend or someone to help you if are not very skillful.
Good Luck!
Reply:Sell them! dont pass them on or they will pinch them!
Reply:Dont they will steal them..post your ideas to yourself in a self addressed envelope..good luck
Reply:Best way is the two same side approach. Use the same infomation/images in two different ways. Like first just have a neat running compilation of what you are trying to get across. so that they can look at it at there speed, the use the same information/images etc and put that in to a working presentation/show/idea ect, something that you control. say a slide show or movie or even a website with the ideas on it. Its the best way to show your idea, in theory then in really.
Reply:I also think dont give your ideas away. Get some sort of commitment and POST THEM TO YOURSELF TO PROTECT YOURSELF
Reply:You have to be careful about telling them your ideas over an email. You need to see their reactions. If you do not have a lot of creative ideas and you send them some but you have exhausted all that you know, they will take it and use it themselves and you are left with nothing.
I would send them an email that is divided in three parts.
1st you need to GRAB THEIR ATTENTION in the first statement.
The second statement should INCLUDE A VERY LITTLE TASTE without spilling the beans. The last statement should GET THEM TO ACT, ask for a meeting with them but make sure it sounds good.
If they give you a meeting - get some kind of guarntee that if they like what they here that they hire you.
Reply:Get them to commit to ideation fee first.
Reply:It sounds pretty risky to send your ideas thru email. I sent an idea called "Cool case" to a copmany that manufacturer boxes. the idea was to have a cooler made out the packaging for soda's and beers so you would not have to transfer the drink into another cooler or buy a seperate cooler that would be disposable. Low and behold the Coors company came out with my idea, be careful about who you contact with your idea.

6 week media blitz advertising?
If your company does a six week media blitz utilizing newprint, radio and television, is it six weeks of continuous advertising? Or due to budget restraints is it okay to jump off one of the mediums for a week?
6 week media blitz advertising?
if you can't afford it you can't afford it. maybe wait until week 3 to start in with television which will probally be the most expensive.

What are the different appeals used in advertising?
Are the sex appeal, fear appeal some of the types of advertising appeal? If so, what are their details and what are the other types of advertising appeals?
What are the different appeals used in advertising?
There are a million atributes used to appeal to consumers. They range from pride and patiotism to love and lust.It really depends upon the type of product you have and how you want to position it in the consumer's mind.
Reply:I think that broadly the appeals used in advertising can be classified into two. That would be RATIONAL appeal and EMOTIONAL appeal. An emotional appeal would be something that appeals to your emotions - of fear, trust, love, liking, pride etc. On the other hand, rational appeal would be something that appeals to your logical and objective side. Consumer advertising largely uses emotional appeal. Business to Business advertising almost always uses the rational approach. I believe that there is also another appeal that is best not classified with the other two. That is SENSORY appeal where the advertising appeals to your senses and may actually trigger changes in your hormone levels etc. For eg. sexual imagery in advertising, gastronomically appealing images etc. There's a lot more that can be said on this. For which you're free to ask me.
Reply:wel m not an advertising guy..jus am mba student.here is my opinion sourced frm xperience n common sense....a catchy punch line works d best...then a touch of light emotions work good in some countries (like India), a logical tempting offer can alone bring about sucess..wat say!

How can we curb advertising on news video clips?
When I try to watch news video clips I'm noticing that the ads are getting longer and more intrusive! It seems that for every 2 minutes of news video I'm forced to endure 30 seconds of advertising; this is worse that regular TV!! Instead of fostering a desire to go out and buy Alpo I'm motivated to stop watching video clips. Good job Yahoo!
How can we curb advertising on news video clips?
Well I guess they could charge you a hundred bucks a month and then they wouldn't have to run ads. They need to make a profit or they go out of business and then there would be no video online.

Best free real estate advertising website?
Trying to sell my home but not having much luck.... are there free advertising websites with lots of traffic?
I know about Craigslist, Recycler and Pennysaver.... any others?
Best free real estate advertising website?
I know you said FREE, but it may take a little money to get the house sold. Maybe you should think about listing the property with a flat fee MLS listing service. You would benefit from the additional advertising. The prices can be as low as $200 depending on your state.

How to block Angelfire advertising?
Does anybody know a HTML code I can use to block advertising on my Angelfire website? I'm not after pop-up adblockers; just normal ones.
How to block Angelfire advertising?
It is against their TOS to remove the advertising units, they will notice this within a few days and ban your website.
Reply:If you use Firefox, try this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...
It'll do the trick.

Best CUNY school for advertising/marketing?
I am trying to transfer into a CUNY and i know i have the grades to probably attend any CUNY i want (not to sound pompous)...
so my question is for advertising/marketing major which CUNY would provide the best quality of education???
Best CUNY school for advertising/marketing?
No, Guidotruckstop. CUNY doesn't have any meaning in the U.S. other than City University of New York. And to get back to the original question, Baruch has a very good marketing department. I have never heard of a decent program at any of the others.

What do you guys think of outdoor advertising? Is it a pollution or a good way for companies to advertise?
In details, is all about the commercialization of public space for private gain? Should outdoor advertising be banned?
What do you guys think of outdoor advertising? Is it a pollution or a good way for companies to advertise?
Are you talking about billboards, or more widely to the light signage that goes on the sidewalk beside premises as well?
Both, IMO, should be much more strictly regulated, they are unsightly, and usually contain too much information for a casual drive-by to get any use from anyway. The lit ones not only use energy that, in this current climate, we should be conserving, but also cause light pollution and distract wildlife such as migrating birds. The plastic handmade signs that you see along the roadside are even worse, they really are litter, and highly unfriendly to the environment, those ones should absolutely be banned and offenders fined.
Along busy roads there are usually so many billboards that I highly doubt they are effective anyway, as you kind of visually tune them out. In the city they amount to little more than expensive litter, and in the countryside it's tantamount to vandalism! Many of them too walk a fine line for me as a parent, having to answer questions from my kid that I don't think are appropriate for her age - and I really am no prude.
* Viridian steps off her soapbox, and clears her throat* Sorry about that, you kind of hit a nerve there!
Reply:I'm a bit torn on the issue. I think it's unsightly, but it works. Back in 2005 I was a sales contractor and I used foam-board signs from Walmart on telephone poles %26amp; made $9,000 directly from my signs and just under $15,000 with referrals from the sign sales from March to August in a city of about 120,000 people. These were almost no work, call-in sales. I spent $50 on materials %26amp; about 30 hours of work to create/hang the signs.
It can be a public nuisance %26amp; can even be illegal in some areas - but I know first hand that it is an effective way to advertise, depending on the product %26amp; the demographic.
However - I don't think that all businesses would benefit from this method, it really depends on the market where the product or service is being advertised.
Reply:i think it is a pollution as it is a waste of time as well as money 4 the ppl who do this job becoz there is none to care for these nowadays .i think it is better to open a website instead.

What is the best advertising solution/platform?
Our small Internet company is trying to choose between 4 advertising solution providers. They are Operative, Accipiter, Falk Solutions, and 24/7 Real Media. Which one these companies has the best platform and is the best to work with? Cheers.

3) Reaches World Wide
4) No Annoying Ads
5) Free Pictures too
6) Allows me to post UNLIMITED FREE Ads
7) No Registration
8) No Hidden Agenda's
9) Instant on
10 The most important thing for me is NO BS...
Thank you http://efreelist.org
Reply:Assuming your are talking about internet advertising, the ideal solution is to get your company exposure on the first page of Google's, Yahoo's, and MSN's natural search results. To do that you have to make sure your website's design conforms to some rather basic HTML standards. You can get a free analysis of your index (home) page through Fast Track SEOP.
If you don't have the time or expertise to revise your website's underlying HTML code or don't have the money to pay a professional search engine optimization specialist to handle it for you, then pay-per-click advertising is an excellent way to get the exposure you need. Just understand that 85-97% of the people searching for your products and/or services ignore sponsored advertising altogether so the strategy is not likely to generate a lot of business in a short period of time and it can get very expensive. Ideal way to market for high ticket items, not so grand for nickel dime retail stuff. There's also an ongoing controversy about the legitimacy of the click throughs one gets using this advertising mechanism. Click fraud is a continuing problem.

What to charge for advertising?
I'm producing a play for which anywhere from 100-500 might come and see. I'd like to sell advertising in the program and the size of the ad would be one quarter of your average letter sized piece of paper. What would be an appropriate amount to charge for that space?
What to charge for advertising?
I would put together 4 sizes: full-page, half-page, quarter-page. I would look at your production costs and look at how much it costs to produce the booklet itself, and go from there. If this is an initial sell, you will need to keep costs low and affordable depending on what type of businesses you are going to. I'm guessing they are local.
The other way to do it is to set up sponsorships for the play itself, in which the sponsors would get ad space in the program booklet. This is ususally how many shows and nonprofit/org events work it. See if there are any major sponsors of the production place you are hosting your show and start there, then look to local businesses. For a quarter-page ad I would start small like $50 or $100 dollars, but offer larger sizes for larger amounts. Also, offer discounts for businesses that buy up their ad space and can get you ads by a certain date, which will make them think they're getting the better deal.
Look at newspapers in your area and go to their websites to find out their ad rates, or look at a nonprofit hosting an event and see what they're offering. It can be anywhere from $100-$500 depending, but I wouldn't expect too much for a first outing.
Reply:No one advertises in programs such as you describe because they expect a return on their investment. They normally have an affiliation with the production company, their kid is in the play, they are wealthy and want to look good to the public etc. So, with that said, I would make sure they get their appropriate recognition. I would divide up your pricing and for the top dollar ones, say $500 for a quarter page, I would throw in two great seats. Give them the red carpet treatment and take em backstage to meet your performers. I guarantee you, the experience will please them, and they will be happy to advertise again at your next play. Oh, by the way, make sure the play is good too.
Reply:My guess is u'd charge $450.
My firm is open to the exchange advertising %26amp; sponsorship(online/offline) ideas.

What are some typical advertising job interview questions?
I would like to prepare for an advertising job interview and wanted to get a list of sample questions that are typically asked and would be good to prepare with. Any ideas?
What are some typical advertising job interview questions?
It depends , as you have not mentioned whether presently you are working or you are a fresher, in which field of advertising you are going to attend the interview.
Lets assume that you are a fresher and attending interview for client servicing. In this field the interviewer would like to see your communication capability, analysis on a particular idea and your confidence level. He also try to dig information on your understanding of the advertising business.
If you are fresher , you need to gather some information on the industry , the company with which you are attending interview their clients etc. Its no point talking about your education, your strengths %26amp; weaknesses. A real professioanl would spend some time to gather info so that in front of the interviewer he talks what the other person would like to listen.
Reply:Be prepared with the normal "what are your strengths, what are you weaknesses"
Also read up and pay attention to current events in the ad community (Adage.com, Adweek, ect..) a lot of agencies will ask what's your favorite campaign out right now and why? What campaign isn't cutting it and why?
Good luck!
Reply:Show me your portfolio.
Reply:The hardest thing to answer when I'm being interviewed is...:"Tell me about yourself." Be ready with a very positive statement to describe your major attributes." They also like to ask a lot of "what was your worst... "and "what was your best..".and "how did you handle...." and "what did you like most about your last job" "what did you like the least?" Whatever you do, answer everything honestly, but with a positive spin. Always be ready to tell them about problem you had and how you resolved it. Be positive, enthusiastic and energetic.
Reply:Aside from the typical interview questions, advertising may ask you other questions to guage your reaction, ability to think on your feet, and commiment to various parts of your career. Depending on the level you are interviewing for, be ready to talk about some magazines or books you read and different trade sources (Ad Age, Media, etc.,) Also, check up on the specific Ad Agency's website, specifically their mission statement and identity information. It is an agency's job to brand other companies so they take their own branding very seriously. They want to know how you can fit into the company's overall goals. If you have previous experience, be able to talk about the results for the client, the relationship with the client, reps, etc., Be able to spin the reason you are looking for a job positively. Brand yourself in the interview.

If company, then go for company registration it have very lenghthy process.
If add agency, nothing to do try to get customers and get a trading certificate from local commercial tax office.

I need advice on advertising my web-sites?
I just signed up with a MLM and I received 3 web-sites/pages to market my biz. I am however, really confused about how to, or which company to go with, to drive traffic to my sites. There are thousands of others signed up with the same co. who come up in a search engine. I considering email advertising or just buying leads. I want to spend as little as possible; I am just getting started and I do not want to end up putting more into this biz than I am getting out of it. I would appreciate your comments.
Thanks in advance!

Isn’t this false advertising.?
For the longest time I didn't know anything about the game series legend of Zelda. Now I've got one off the games and Zelda so far only has showed up in it once. Isn’t it false advertising for Zelda not to be the main focus off the game? If you pick up a book or game with the title legend of {your name here} and you found out it was about the person that hung around you all the time wouldn't you’d be disappointed. hu hu hu.
Anyway it’s an awesome game but for a while there I was expecting something different.
Isn’t this false advertising.?
That's possibly my favorite series of games ever.
And no, it's not false advertising. Dracula rarely showed up in Dracula. Jaws rarely showed up in Jaws. The Wizard of Oz rarely showed up in The Wizard of Oz. And so on and so on and so on.
Stick with it til the end. You'll be pleased.

How should I go about getting a advertising job?
I'm 4 classes away from my BA degree in advertising. I already have a BA in finance, though I don't like this area. My question is what is the best way to find a job in advertising/sales?
How should I go about getting a advertising job?
What aspect of the advertising team will be your specialty? If you have no direct experience, find a smaller company to target. As a new person to the field, you are going to have be able to sell to them to meet their needs specifically. So as you look through job descriptions, look for those specific markers that you will need to elaborate and emphasize in your cover letter. As always, know about the company you are applying for. For example, ABC Advertising has run a classified asking for a specialist or whatever along with skills and experience preferred. With the exception of those that state they want several years experience (versus at least one year), send your resume anyway. If you get an interview, you will need to know the method of advertising they do, the distribution and also about their direct competition. Armed with these things when you go into an interview new to the industry shows your level of interest (instead of the first job you could find) and shows your comprehension of their business. Good luck.

Do you work in advertising or marketing? Please help! I'm a student?!?
I am very interested in pursuing a career in advertising or marketing? Do you work in that field? How do you like it? How many hours a week do you work? How much do you make? Is it fun/exciting?
Do you work in advertising or marketing? Please help! I'm a student?!?
I was in marketing with a fortune 100 high tech company... worked my way into that role from being a techie.
My job title was something like: Senior Global Program Manager.
I absolutely loved it. I was responsible for the design and deployment of global services.
I traveled the world: Tokyo, Hong Kong, South and Central America, Australia, all over Europe and U.S.
I did get burned out though - it was a very high pressure, demanding job for a company with a cut-throat reputation. I was rarely home. I made great money but similar to sales I had to perform (or rather the services that I designed and "rolled out" had to perform... or else! :-0

Opinions on fairness in advertising in World Show Journal issue?
I got my APHA issue about two weeks ago. This is the World Show issue that has all of the "beautiful people and their horses" ads. I know some of these ads cost mega bucks, since they are full color and spread over several pages. My question. Do you think that this gives an unfair advantage over people who cannot afford this? Do you think that judges see these ads then look for these people in the show pen? Since exhibitors are not suppose to fraternize with the judges, should this kind of advertising even be allowed? Or is this just an ego trip to be seen in the journal? Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on this.
Opinions on fairness in advertising in World Show Journal issue?
I have my new Paint Journal and I know the advertisements you are speaking of. I'll give you the anwers to your questions, as they way I see them. By the way, I show Paint in Alberta, but I have never dreamed of going to the World Show (I don't have enough money!) and I've never put an ad of any sort in a magazine. But I know why people do it. Advertising sells. You don't think it makes a difference? Just ask businesses such as Coca-Cola and Adidas and all those companies that pay huge money for advertising. They know that it makes a difference. People pay more for Coke than no name cola.
First question. Do you think this gives an unfair advantage to people who cannot afford this? Yes, I suspect it gives a slight advantage. That's what they are hoping, anyhow. Is this unfair? I don't know. Is it fair that it takes alot of money in every aspect to be successful showing? A backyard horse worth $5000 is going to have an awfully hard time competing against a rich person's $60,000 horse, and believe me, those expensive horses are out there! And having lots of extra money gives you a top name trainer to ride with, it gives you a super stable to keep your horse, it gives you the very best of saddles, clothing and other tack. Is it fair? Probably not. But that's how it goes in every sport - money helps. If your parents can afford to send you to summer hockey school, if they can send you to the best hockey coaches, if they buy the $200 hockey sticks, if they can haul you to all the games, then as a hockey player you are going to have an advantage over the poor parent's kid who can't afford to do more than haul their kid once a week to hockey practice.
Second question. Do the judges see those ads? You bet they do. Judges read Breed journals. They recognize names. They recognize trainers and specific horses.
Should this kind of advertising be allowed? If you don't allow it, then you'd have to also not allow stallions to be promoted, trainers to advertise, etc as all those people are also promoting this bloodlines, titles, abilities and such.
Is it an ego trip? Probably for alot of people. Not necessarily for everyone. Many people are aware that advertising sells, and will put in an ad to keep themselves competitive with the others. If I somehow found a way to buy a World class horse, and I put all my time and money into trying to get ready to win with him, I probably would have to consider an ad. Not because of my ego, but because I need to be competitive with the others.
So beyond a doubt, horse showing is something that takes a certain amount of money to succeed. But you don't have to go to that huge expense. Show locally. Buy a young horse and have it trained and take a chance. Do alot of your own training. Buy stuff second hand. Buy an older horse with soundness issues and work with that. There is ways to keep money down, and still get out there.
Don't think money makes a difference with barrel racing? Well, the richer barrel racers can buy the best trained, fastest horses. They can buy the top bred foals and send them to the best barrel racing trainers around. They can afford to haul to lots and lots of competitions to accumulatate money and prizes.
In my opinion, life isn't fair. But since I'm alive and kicking, I'm going to continue doing the best I can, with what I have. For now I won't be advertising in the Paint horse journal. Could I in the future? I doubt it, but I suppose anything is possible!
There's my thoughts on the issue.
Reply:The QH journal is the same before the World and I don't see what the problem is. If you've spent all year hauling your horse around the country to get points to qualify, you'd want to shout it out.
Most trainers these days have judges cards for QH, Paint and App and to suggest that they avert their eyes from magazines is silly. In the Gainesville, Pilot Point, Aubrey area, everyone knows each other, uses the same stores, same vets etc so they "fraternize" on a daily basis. I don't think an ad in a mag is going to make that much difference one way or the other. It's not an ego trip either, we promoted all of ours in the journal because it's a good promotional tool for the trainer, the studs and their offspring and encourages people to come seek you out at the show.
What next, no stalls curtains because other exhibitors can't afford them?
Reply:I don't believe it gives an unfair advantage. It is however, a major waste of space, and a pain to the reader. But if people want to waste their money on advertising which doesn't benefit them in any way, let them do it, they are just showing off, and it's their own loss.
Reply:This occurs in every breed journal. I used to get the Paint Journal, but the ads got so mind numbingly boring.. lotsa "Look at Me!" stuff. I think that for a big operation, this advertising is probably necessary to keep them in front of their customer base, but I also think it helps drive up the costs of a lot of the biz. I like the AQHA's member mag...it is geared to everyone, has great articles and not page after page of enlarged butts, forearms and cheeks. The Arabian folks also have a similar mag for its members. About real people and their horses. Still some "dream on come-ons", but stuff I like to read and I don't have to look at 50 ads to get to 1 good article. I think judges look at these journals and they know who's in the big leagues and who's not, but I have seen great horses owned by John Q Nobody get used at the big shows by judges that are fair. In Arabian showing, a lot of these judges were featured quite extensively in breeder ads themselves as they tend to be trainers when they aren't judges. I try not to show under a judge who knows me. Once, this happened and the judge was a fellow club member... I tried to avoid eye contact, and hoped for the best. I got the class and later, the judge saw me, recognized me, and remarked about this. Thought it was odd when most riders are vying for attention, but I just didn't want to get picked due to any favoritism. She appreciated that.
Reply:I'm not sure it does. Those with the glitz of ads better be ready to back it up in the ring. A horse might look picture perfect there but comes in the ring and another non-advertised horse keeps getting the judge's eye. The best horse should be put up and most times the best one in the judge's opinion is (and it really is just an OPINION). Personally if it were me and if I recognized the horse I'd look that much closer.
True story - I know of a mare who is a 4 time world champion. I wouldn't take her if she was given to me. Seriously. She's a RIP to deal with; she's a nasty wench in the stall; she's crooked big time in front and unsound because of it. She fractured the coffin bone in the pasture - that's how bad the crooked is and how much pressure it's putting on her. I also handled three offspring - none could stand pressure of seriously working (as in riding!) as they'd get sore. They had crappy attitudes - which would be fixable if the people there would do so but they don't. The oldest colt is an aggressive BRAT and can't be broke to ride because even just lunging him he won't stay sound. The middle one is better but has other issues; the youngest had the best chances but even as a baby a day of playing and he'd be sore and limping. And the thing is this mare was world champion pinned in halter not once but FOUR TIMES. I don't get how 'cause I took one look at her front end and looked at the next mare.
Show wins don't mean everything. Horses have bad days and a bad day on the wrong day can make a difference. The horse that acts up in the ring, blows leads etc is not going to win no matter how many expensive ads are run. JMO
Reply:Honestly, I can't stand the exhibitor 'ads' for the World show, but I do not believe it gives any advantage to the exhibitor, as far as judging. There is no way the judges even recognize these people (unless already known from a previous experience) inside the arena. First, the outfits, hats, glitz and all... plus the amount of horses and people they see every day.... plus the fact that they are looking at very specific things and the exhibitor's face usually isn't one that gets a ton of attention. That's just my thought on the matter.
I do hate the waste of space in the Journal and think that if a ranch is going to advertise their horses going to World then it should be on the horses (especially mares and stallions, if breeders). I also think that if a trainer is going to advertise his clients going to World, it should be how many and his talents that are advertised... Blah... it really irritates me! lol

Is NBC a good advertising network for young school terrorists?
They have just spread the seed for the next nightmare in some kids head.
Do you think they hard time deciding if they
should make the blood money?
Are they supporting these school terrorist acts by "advertising this manifesto" to the youth of America?
Is NBC a good advertising network for young school terrorists?
EXACTLY!!! Those images and video should NEVER have been aired! How could they do this? I cannot imagine the additional pain this is bringing to the families of the victims... NBC and all the networks, newspapers and Internet that are airing the pictures and video from this "manifestation of pure evil" (I will NEVER use his name!) are guilty of adding to this great tragedy and possibly fueling future copy-cats...
A very sad day.
Reply:I don't think anyone who is of this same sick mind needs a seed planted - the seed is planted by the mental illness and voices they hear inside their own minds.
There is a sick fascination with what in the world this kid was thinking though, and so the media feeds that curiosity by showing us the manifesto. I viewed it. My curiosity is satisfied now.
Human beings always want to know "why". It is why people leave suicide notes, dear John letters, and manifestos. Perhaps we learn a bit about how to spot these signs in others. Perhaps we save a few lives in the future, and perhpas we see a bit of this sickness in ourselves.

Free or Cheap Online Advertising?
Just looking for come cheap and or free online advertising for a website of mine.
Free or Cheap Online Advertising?
"If you build it, they will come" is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

I need some help in my essay (Advertising to youth)?
hi,
Thesis: People should be concerned about the advertising their children are exposed to for three reasons: some advertising creates materialistic, illegal, and health behaviors.
Can anyone please give me supporting point for health behaviors?? or for the other reasons.
If you have something different about the three reason please tell me.
thanks a lot
I need some help in my essay (Advertising to youth)?
I would say that a point for health behaviors would be body image. Many teenage girls read magazines, see advertisements in which thin models are shown and they feel that they need to be like them. This could result in that girl dieting, but most of the time they do not do it in a healthy manner.
Reply:How about the fact that tv commercials are all about fast food? That encourages youth to make unhealthy choices. Also, fast food is all over billboards.
Same goes for smoking, alcohol, etc.

Roughly, how much could you make from advertising on the internet?
I would just like to know an approximate amount, iam wondering if it is worth starting up an advertising business, just advertising other websites
Roughly, how much could you make from advertising on the internet?
Advertising where, for what? Are you talking about creating a web site and earning money from advertising that appears on your web site? Or are you talking about buying ads on web sites or search engines? Or perhaps you're thinking about creating your own ad network or brokerage?
I know of very popular, high-traffic web sites with loyal audiences, who struggle to earn 10 cents per 1,000 pageviews. I know of other sites that easily rake in $10 to $30 per 1,000 pageviews. In 1998-1999, I ran a site that generated more than $100 per 1,000 adviews, for much of its traffic.
Of course, in order to sell advertising based on traffic (or clicks, or sales), you must first have traffic, and that's a challenge by itself. Many folks think that if they just post some banners on a page and post it on the internet, the money will start rolling in. But nobody visits pages like that (at least nobody who's going to buy anything).
It's all about context, and audience, and purpose, and message. You've asked an abstract question, and the answer to your abstract question is, "there is no limit to the theoretical amount you might make from advertising on the internet." But at least 90% of people who try to make money through internet advertising FAIL, and the actual figure might be higher than 99%.
If someone is trying to sell you a program or package or ebook about making money through internet advertising, check out my article at http://www.MarkWelch.com/affiliate-arbit... which explains why most folks who do this don't make money.
Reply:If your website is going to be simply about putting up advertisements..... then you probably won't make much.

Reply:I would say that the equipment used for advertising photography is available to anyone, but is generally very expensive. Almost all advertising work up until very recently was done on medium or large-format cameras, with the best lenses, film, and particularly, lighting equipment. Most magazine cover photos, such as for fashion magazines, has been done on medium-format cameras, like the Hasselblad, Mamiya, Pentax 67, etc. The reason for this is that the larger format produces pictures with more resolution and subtle tonal gradations when compared to 35mm cameras.
Most product and architectural photography, especially the high-end stuff like expensive watches, jewelry, fancy buildings, etc. is shot on large-format equipment (typically 4x5 inch) so that perspective can be controlled and focus can be achieved to a high degree of accuracy even when the object or building is not on the same plane as the film. Also, the larger format produces incredible detail.
Since the advent of digital sensors, there has been a move in that direction because of the increase in workflow speed and the ability to see the final results instantly. Digital sensors are available for medium- and large-format cameras, and the results are spectacular. Whereas a "good, professional dSLR might have 10 or 12 MP, a medium format camera may have up to 44 MP today, and a large format camera up to 300 MP! This is a lot of information and can certainly help when printing a double-page spread in a tab-sized magazine.
Then there is the element of lenses (no pun intended). The typical consumer-grade lenses, particularly zoom lenses, leave a lot to be desired. Professional zoom lenses for dSLRs often cost more than $1000 and often much more than that. What you get for your money is greater sharpness, less distortion, constant apertures and better build quality.
And the lenses for medium- and large-format cameras such as the German Zeiss and Schneider prime lenses are at the limit of what can be done with glass optics.
I hope this helps.

Reply:We all use SLR or DSLR cameras and mostly the same lenses people use everyday.
The exceptions to this are as follows:
When the client needs a 8x10 or 4x5 transparency,
The use of medium format is required or
When using an ultra wide or ultra long lens.

Is there such a thing as negative advertising?
The customer gets turned off or stops buying a product or service because they don't like the advertising or the product is advertised too much.
Is there such a thing as negative advertising?
Yes, there is a thing called negative advertising!!!! I have a very good example of this - In 1970s ford was shown in every magazine in US and of course every news paper around and their sales were around 70% less than last year! This was because of advertising too much!
Reply:yes.
or the advertising repositions the product to appeal to a group of people that the customer doesn't want to think s/he is a part of.
Example: liquid vitamins with minerals.
you could probably sell this product to health conscious women and mothers of children.
Unless the product is named "Geritol" -- Geritol is for old folks and working age women do NOT want to be think themselves old.
***
you can also reposition your competition via negative advertising. The famous example is Tylenol -- no stomach upset. It successfully repositioned aspirin as an undesirable product.
Reply:I have sometimes become fed up by certain adverts on radio or TV. If they are repeated 'endlessly' Also sometimes I think I feel there is too much 'spin' in some cases (ads for skin cremes are a classic). You can't beat petroluem jelly.
Also you can do negative advertising in another way by implying something else is worse than yours.
Such as 'Our soap powder doesn't leave suds on your clothes'

Best Place for Free Advertising and Marketing?
What do you think, is the best place or best way to smartly do advertising and marketing on INTERNET for Free?
Please tell me.
Best Place for Free Advertising and Marketing?
The best experiences I've had with marketing my sites was by doing the following:
1.) Search engine optimization (SEO)
You can create a site in such a way that the search engines "love" and put it high in the search results. You can do this by on-page and off-page optimization.
Key here is to find relevant, but not so competitive keywords for your target niche. Read more on this in my free ebook:
%26gt;%26gt; http://hypnoticmindtraining.com/OnlineSu...
2.) Article writing and distribution. This one is great and I do it all the time. You simply write a good 500-700 words article on your topic and submit it to various article directories. You include a link back to your site in the "Author's BIO box", of course :-)
This benefits you threefold: a.) you get direct visitors to your site from the article directory; b.) your article is usually picked up by other related sites that need content (they must include your "BIO box too!), so you get even more visitors from their site; and c.) this is the most important part... you get what's called "link popularity", which is a off-page SEO technique (refer to my ebook that I suggested you download).
3.) Forum advertising... you join as many relevant forums as you can and post relevant and helpful articles/comments there. Usually you're allowed to put your web URL in the signature.
If you do this right, people will come by the 1000s! Really, I'm not kidding.
4.) Blog commenting is the last major thing I do. You simply search for relevant blogs and post relevant comments there. Most will allow you to include a URL to your site.
5.) A little bonus here :-) -- What also works great are press releases via www.prweb.com (although I suggest you invest at least $40 in a press release, it works quite well with free ones too. It's just important to write a good press release). You can get many tips for writing good PRs from the site I suggested.
OK, hope you're happy with the answer. These techniques work and have been tested over and over again. Now it's your turn to implement them.
Have a great day!

Are there anyways of advertising my web page for free?i just want to get my domain name out on the internet.?
The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is to first set up a website and publish its domain name on major search directories such as Google.com, Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?......... and MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these search directories to provide them with goods and services. In a sense, these search directories are a very large Internet Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using such "generic" queries will not be able to discover your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website, in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the Internet audience and their incoming setup. For example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages take too long to load up and therefore analog users will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple question, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup or DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users for maximum marketability, then select analog users since 80% of most resident users are still analog Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one's goods and services.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. "Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google's spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.
Here's an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query "pizza downtown los angeles." It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where "Pizza Next Door" is ranked. It's in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door's high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo's publication guidelines.
Good luck!

What you can do is either to cut your losses and start something more sensible or( if you feel your shopping site really has potential) start working on the traffic.
But to get free traffic you need great content first. The best free traffic comes from the search engines, but only if you offer interesting and unique content.

Reply:Sorry your business has not turned out as you would have liked. I do understand what you are going through. Yes there are thousands of scam sites out there and their aim is to convince you to join. In joining any money making site research is important and your gut feelings along with common are good tips to apply.
Anyway you need help. The key to getting sales is advertising. Many persons will charge you money to send traffic to your site and they dont deliver. Some will even send you email addresses that no longer exist.
There are many free site that you can advertise on and you should make use of them. Also you will have to find different and creative ways to advertise. Just dont stick to online advertising. Advertise offline as well. Do poster and pass out or paste them on public notice boards. Contacts friends or people who might be interested in what you are selling or spread the word for you. Do business cards - there is a site that will do them free for you. Do a testimonial or an article and post it in an article forum.
The aim is to get noticed and eventually start getting traffic to your site which will then generate income.
All the best to you.

Reply:Ok, you hav a website and you need to move traffic in. Here are some tips that helped my website:
1. I created a blog for free and started writing, giving information what I am passionate about e.g. and because my business is design - I talked about web design, videos on line, new softwares. So depending what your website is about, find an aread which you can chat about and start blogging.
This will create readship volume of people and start getting people going to your wevbsite. For it to work, you have to be consistent, - so, keep blogging with stuff that will interest people. It can be anything or even about the challenges of settng up an Internet business and what to watch out for. You already have experience in this now, so use it to your advantage.
2. You can create banners and share knowledge on different forums. Then upload your banner dies at http://www.picoodle.com/
When upload is finish, it will give you a link. You can paste this link in your blogger and in forums you share knowledge or interesting topics of yours. Then put a link for people to go back your business website.
3. The key here is FINDING your Community. To do that, you need to invest time, and be use the TOOLS that are already there. No need to re-invent the wheel. The internet is powerful if you sit down for a moment and think of ideas, - surf the net NOT TO BUY anything but to find out how others have done it.
4. Build relationship with people online and offline. Keep it consistent and slowly people will trust you to find out and ask, "so, what do you do." When asked, don;t kill the moment. Just briefly say what you do and give a link. That is it. Let the people choose to click on the link.
Here is an ARTICLE on Traffic to your Website:
Web Traffic Introduction
If you're reading this, I likely don't need to explain the fact that unless a site has visitors, the rest of it is absolutely meaningless. You can hire professional designers, and experts to write articles and web content, but unless you have visitors, it's just another package of junk cluttering the internet. How to break out of this junk pack, and be seen and read, is at the same time easy and difficult. Easy because there is a logical way you can go about acquiring and building traffic. Difficult because there are about 100 million others who are doing the same thing.
Before we go about trying to build traffic, let's do a little analysis of the kind of traffic you need. There's targeted traffic, which means that the visitor coming to you from that source likely is looking for exactly what you have on your site. This would be from search engines, web directories where you are listed in that category, forums which serve your industry, or sector and ad branding campaigns, where you advertise products alongwith your website.
Then there's general traffic, which means the visitor could be from anywhere, even a totally unrelated site, and may or may not have any interest in the things your site has to offer. This can happen when you buy traffic from traffic sellers, do direct mail campaigns, and your link appears on pages such as news pages, which draw a general audience.
The thing you have to remember about traffic is that these are human visitors, and you need to cultivate them, and keep them coming back for more. This is what we call 'repeat' or 'bookmark' visitors. If you have a 100 visitors this month, and 10 of them keep coming back, means that next month you'll have 110. The month after that 120. And so on. This is just the basic calculation. The number of new visitors also has to increase exponentially each month, and we'll be looking at ways to achieve that.
The amount of money you earn depends directly on the number of 'eyeballs' or visitors you have. So say you're earning $150 from a 1000 visitors, the best thing you can do is increase the number of visitors to say, 5000. And then try for more. And so on. Design, content, hosting, etc. is all fine for finetuning what you offer, but ultimately, what you earn comes down to how many people visit your site. Simple Math.
Lastly, you need to study and analyze your incoming traffic. What is your clickthru ratio? What is your sales conversion ratio? Where is your traffic coming from? Which of your pages are the most popular? Which ad banners work? How much traffic do you have? Is it going up, or down? How much does each visitor cost you? All of this, and more, can be accomplished by means of traffic analying tools such as Webalizer and Google Analytics.

Reply:Hi,
sorry to hear that you fell for one of those "fireproof" shopping sites.
Maybe it makes you feel better, when you know, that 99% of all websites don't have substantial traffic.
http://traffic.bestsmallbusinesshelp.com...

PS: Try advertising at the following:

My 14 your old niece has been advertising herself for sex online and posting naked pics?
My 14 year old niece has been advertising herself for sex online at various swingers' sites. She has posted pics of herself topless and another pic of herself masturbating. She lives abroad, so it's hard for me to help her. I found out about her online activity through some shrewd detective work. It old her mom but her mom has not done anything about it. What would make a 14 year old get caught up in stuff like this? I believe she has actually met some grown men for sex. I can understand a 14 year old wanting to experiment with teenage boys, but advertising herself to 30 year old men seems way OTT. What might cause this behavior and how can I help? I'm wondering if she has been molested and that's why she has become so over-sexed. She also drinks a lot of alcohol and binge eats (she is very overweight).

Homeschooling advice and/or advertising......?
I am a Master's degreed teacher with 25 years of experience looking to work from home. I would like to serve as a consultant to schools and to homeschool families. Also, I would like to offer specialized tutoring/instruction to homeschool students in my home office. I could also tutor afterschool to any student. My Master's is in counseling, so I could also offer any related service therein. My question is- how do I market this and reach interested students / families? I live in the Houston, Texas area and while I am interested in marketing my services locally, I am not asking for information only specific to Houston - there may be a national way of advertising. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help!

Reply:Contact major corporations that have been in existance since 1900 or earlier.

Best of luck.

How to get in advertising agencies?
i want to know how to get job in advertising agencies as graphics
designer. i am 7 years experience in graphics designing and know
the following software corel, photoshop, pagemaker, quarkexpress,
illustrator
How to get in advertising agencies?
One way that alot of people get into a major agency is by starting small. There are countless smaller ad and marketing agencies and firms that are constantly looking to hire new graphic designers, web designers, etc. If you have some graphic design talent, you can probably land a job at one of those places. You will work on local and regional campaigns, and sometimes the larger firms hire the smaller ones to complete specific portions of an overall campaign. While you're there, you can use the work to enhance your portfolio and your experience, and then start applying to the bigger firms. Having prior experience in the industry does wonders for your attractiveness as a candidate.
Most importantly, always keep working on your portfolio. Build up your skills and show a diverse range of styles.
Reply:Nishant,
You need to have an incredible book... With your past web site designs, press ads, graphic charts etc you could convince some... Just send copies of your book together with your CV to all the agencies you would like to work with... You'll receive lot of negative answers, never give up... This is a real hard sector to get in... I know... I'm in now!!
Good luck, cheers.......

There are many organisations advertising their medicines for diabetes on the internet. Is it safe for use.?
I want to know whether it is safe to buy medicines for diabetes on the internet. Doctors say there is no cure for diabetes but could only be controlled and managed by medicines. But those advertising on the internet say there is cure. Is it true and safe?
There are many organisations advertising their medicines for diabetes on the internet. Is it safe for use.?
There is no medical cure so anyone saying they have a cure is in direct violation of the law. So right off the bat, they are either ignorant or malicious. Do you want to be dealing with someone that irresponsible?
There are many natural products that may benefit you. Improving your diet gives you access to the many phytochemicals you should have been getting in your diet in the first place. Certain herbs can improve your insulin levels because of the phytochemicals they provide. They are not drugs anymore than the salad bar is a drug.
However, dietary supplements do not cure disease either. The provide a convenient source of nutritional support which may, in some cases, be of higher quality than the available food supply.
Reply:There is NO cure, don't think you can win by trying things sold online, you'll end up very ill.
Take your insulin, listen to your doctors, when and if there is a cure, you'll know about it.
Reply:No, diabetes has to be closely supervised by your physician.
Reply:I would stick to what your doctor advises. Unfortunately it is very easy to say just about anything these days and even have some "doctor" endorse it. They are almost all unsubstantiated claims.
There is no cure for diabetes. When you see a story on FOX news or ABC to the contrary you will know about it. It will be one of the biggest breakthroughs in years in medicine.
If you listen to everything on the internet you will a) be no better; and b) be much lighter in the wallet.
Diabetes can be controlled. That is true!! Diet, excercise, and meds are the way.
You deserve a lot of credit for finding out on your own instead of becoming a victim of a sales pitch.
Reply:These so-called cures are expensive snake oil. There is always somebody out there ready to prey on the vulnerable. It's sad, really.
